The festival that makes Abidjan vibrate in December
Since its first edition in 2022, the Mother Africa Festival has established itself in Abidjan's calendar as the great celebration of the continent's cultures and its diaspora. Previous editions were held in late December in Marcory Zone 4 — on 28–29 December in 2023, then 27–28 December for the following editions — from 2 pm to 4 am: a continuous programme that starts in the afternoon and runs late into the night.
On the programme of past editions: concerts and live music, dance classes, sculpture and painting created live, photo sessions in traditional African outfits, stands and designers. The festival draws an audience from Côte d'Ivoire, the continent and the diaspora, gathered for the holiday season — the famous "Detty December" of Abidjan.
